Dear Vocal Music Booster Members,

Welcome to the 2010 -11 edition of the Upper Arlington High School Vocal Music Program. Your child is part of a unique program that will provide him/her with an excellent musical education. As such, you are automatically a member of the UAHS Vocal Music Booster organization.

This year promises to be an exceptional one for all of the students. There are many exciting changes in store as well as maintaining old favorites. This year the entire choral department, not just Symphonic choir, will be performing a major work entitled Carmina Burana. The musical is moving this year from the end of February to the beginning of December in order to put on a production of White Christmas. Correspondingly, Fall Follies will become February Follies with the theme 'The Magical Music of Disney'. The Symphonic Choir will be taking their bi-annual New York Tour in early April. There will be the annual Piano Recital, the Night of Jazz, and the Spring Concert. Truly an exciting year.

UAVMB is a great organization which supports the Vocal Music department throughout the year. We provide scholarship support for the students, purchase needed equipment for the department, perform fund-raising activities, and advertise the department performances. We lend support ushering, selling concessions and tickets, producing programs, and building sets. We produce videos of the productions, sell spirit wear and yard signs. The list goes on and on, but the best part is we have a lot of fun doing it!

I encourage you to become an active participant in the UAHS Vocal Music Boosters. Support your child's involvement and interest in vocal music by becoming an active participant in the UAHS Vocal Music Boosters. We meet every second Monday of the month at 7:30pm in room 181 at the High School.

You can also support the program by purchasing an ENCORE! ad or becoming a benefactor. Additional information on how to do this is provided in our newsletter. These funds help send our students on tour. They have also allowed us to help the department purchase choir robes, sound equipment, etc. This year we are considering purchasing additional choir robes.
